The river Sile
Stretching out over 90 km, the Sile is the longest resurgence river in Italy. It begins on the high plain, in Casacorba in the town council area of Vedelago, runs through the territory of Treviso and, after having crossed the old town of the city of Treviso, flows into the Adriatic Sea.
It was once the main route linking Treviso to Venice, helping trade and increasing the wealth of the city, which was skilled in using the many waterways running through it.
In 1991, the regional natural park of the River Sile was established, both in order to safeguard the environment and promote its natural and historical facets.

Set off from the tower by the water. On leaving the road turn left, and continue for approximately 2 km, then turn into the cycle lane.
After about 10 km you will come to the charming little port of Casier, skirting a large bight of the River Sile. Here, at the “al Sile" trattoria guests can savour some of the typical cuisine from Treviso (anguilla in umido - stewed eel - and pasta e fagioli - pasta with kidney beans).
The route continues along a wooden walkway suspended over the water, at the end of which you will come to the lake, Lago Verde. Continue, skirting the Sile to reach the old centre of Treviso.
Tour 2
Set off from the tower by the water. On leaving the road turn right and, having cycled through the village of Musestre, cross the iron bridge. The road slopes down immediately to the left, where the cycle lane which skirts the River Sile and passes the
natural oasis of Trepalade starts. Cycle on to the lagoon in Portegrandi.
During the route, cyclists can stop on one of the wharfs to eat a packed lunch, enjoy the sun and admire the beautiful nature of this area.
